Abstract: Paracelsus, who is considered the father of toxicology, said around 500 years back that "dose makes the poison". If you were to trace further into history, ancient rich civilizations had hinted about dose dependence. Going by this quote, alcohol drinkers should be careful about the level of drinking to prevent from becoming problem drinkers, and alcoholics. To elaborate further on this quotation, this article will include thorough data analysis on various fronts pertaining to drinking (social, economic, behavioral) and its impact (both positive and negative) on health, along with my personal belief.
After writing this abstract, I came across this interesting article that I would like to share.
